Overview
We are seeking a Certified GPR Technician for Concrete Applications to join our growing team in Calgary! This role involves conducting ground-penetrating radar scans, interpreting data, and supporting our cutting & coring team with technical expertise. Candidates should be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working within the construction industry. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects that require technical proficiency and hands-on skills. You must have at least 2 years of full-time field experience collecting data and interpreting the results using GPR technology.
Qualifications
- You can clearly communicate your findings verbally and in writing through detailed reports.
- You have in-depth knowledge of 3-D data collecting and modelling.
- You can calibrate the equipment to make an accurate interpretation of slab thicknesses and target depths.
- You can estimate target diameter. You have a very good understanding of the properties of structural concrete and what may be embedded.
- You can identify elements such as rebar, P/T cables, pipes, wire mesh, structural beams, PVC targets, voids and fractures, noise and interference.
- You are familiar with EM technology and can accurately detect live power.
- You have experience post-processing and analyzing GPR data with processing software and you can create, collect and stitch together any sized grid to create a Super 3D graph.
- Ability to read drawings is an asset.
- You have a valid AB drivers’ license and a clean driving record.
- You are available to occasionally work overtime, evenings, nights and out of town.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary commensurate with skills and experience ~ $28 to $32 first year with regular annual raises.
