JOB SUMMARY: Plans production schedules, establishes material needs and determines labor and equipment requirements. Assures timely manufacturing and delivery of high quality products. Assures that proper direction is given for building and equipment maintenance.
DUTIES
- Oversees planning activities for all manufacturing functions
- Provides supervision and technical support for all manufacturing personnel
- Provides accurate and on-time deliveries of customer orders, according to pre-determined delivery schedules
- Ensures that high quality manufacturing standards are maintained
- Assists with design and development of new products
- Assists in developing the selling prices of fixtures by providing estimated and actual manufacturing labor costs
- Ensures that all employees observe and comply with OHSA and internal safety regulations
- Ensures that daily, weekly and/or other scheduled preventative maintenance programs are maintained
- Assists in training and/or interacting with team members to help meet established goals and standards
- Approves wage increases for employees under his/her supervision
- Attend production, quality and safety meetings to keep abreast of corporate needs and policies
- Assures that work area and aisles are kept clean and free of debris
- Requires clean work areas at the end of the shifts
- Other duties that may be assigned on an as-required basis
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains a safe work environment, making certain that anyone around the workstations will not be in jeopardy to injury
- Assures that employees follow all organizational procedures and all Safety Rules and Regulations
- Administer appropriate and fair disciplinary action whenever necessary
- Demonstrate a professional attitude when approaching work assignments
- Display an awareness to maximize the utilization of materials and to minimize waste of materials
- Analyze and maintain close control of manufacturing labor and material costs.
- Display a sense of urgency towards completing assigned tasks
- Assists in developing solutions to problems
- Assures the quality of work produced is acceptable to company standards and specifications
- Maintains good attendance
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferably a four-year degree in Engineering or Business Administration
- Possess supervisory training or have commensurate experience
- Ability to read and interpret job orders and to understand specifications and technical drawings
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Possess proven Human Relations skills
- Ability to manage multi tasks in a fast paced environment
- Must be detail oriented
- Capable of learning new skills as needed
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
- Reports directly to the VP of Operations
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally, sitting most of the time, but periods of standing and walking.
- Requires some travel for training or customer visits as needed.
