Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced General Machinist with 5 to 7 years of hands-on machining experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely manufacturing precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications while maintaining high standards of quality, productivity, and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Set up and operate manual machine equipment to manufacture parts to specified tolerances.
- Safely manufacture, modify, repair, and finish components according to drawing requirements.
- Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and organized conditions.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments to achieve required specifications.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting production deadlines.
- Ensure all completed work meets quality and customer requirements.
Required Equipment Experience:
The successful candidate must be proficient in the safe operation of the following equipment:
- Manual Lathe
- Manual Milling Machine
- Manual Surface Grinder
- Band Saw
- Broaching Machines
- Pedestal Grinders
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of machining experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Thorough understanding of machining practices, tolerances, and measurement techniques.
- Ability to manufacture parts accurately to drawing specifications.
- Must possess own basic machinist hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
