Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently while providing outstanding customer service. In addition to cashier duties, you will assist with pricing merchandise, stocking shelves, creating product displays, and helping customers locate products throughout the store. The ideal candidate enjoys working with the public, has previous retail experience, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Willingness to learn, be productive, work with others and maintain a positive attitude Process cash, debit, credit card, and gift card transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Be alert and aware and greet customers as they enter and leave the store.
- Answer customer questions in person and over the phone.
- Assist customers in locating products and provide knowledgeable recommendations.
- Promote featured products, make sales referrals, and suggest complementary items.
- Price merchandise, stock shelves, and create attractive product displays.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional checkout area. Distribute in-store flyers and promotional materials.
- Resolve customer concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assist customers with carry-outs when required. (some physical strength necessary)
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a retail cashier OR 1 year of retail sales experience OR 1 year of customer service experience.
- Experience operating a computer POS system, barcode scanner, and debit terminals.
- Strong communication skills including reading, writing and speaking English Excellent time management skills including productive use of time at work and arriving for work on time. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with cash handling.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
Availability Requirements
- Applicants must be: Available to work one or two days on weekends.
- Available to work weekday shifts between 9:45 a.m. and 6:15 p.m.
Pay: $17.60 per hour
