Duties
- Safely load and unload shipments using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, cranes, or order pickers.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks to move goods securely and efficiently throughout the warehouse.
- Operate heavy machinery including forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks following all safety protocols.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against shipping documents, ensuring accuracy in order picking and inventory management.
- Assist with warehouse organization by stacking, sorting, and storing items according to warehouse management system (WMS) guidelines.
- Support shipping & receiving processes by preparing items for dispatch or receipt, ensuring proper documentation is completed.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment conducive to efficient operations.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related construction experience.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and order pickers safely.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking and order processing.
- Strong understanding of load & unload procedures with emphasis on heavy lifting techniques.
- Ability to perform detailed order picking accurately in fast-paced settings.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices for heavy equipment operation.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards maintaining operational efficiency.
