Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bilingual (French and English) Afterschool Assistant to support children in a dynamic educational environment. This role involves supervising students, assisting facilitating engaging activities that promote learning and social development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to creating a safe, nurturing space for students after school hours. Prior experience in early childhood education or tutoring is highly valued, and the position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on young learners’ lives.
Hours: 2:30pm to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday with a strong possibility of extra hours.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children during afterschool hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Facilitate engaging educational activities, games, and creative projects that support learning objectives
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and staff regarding student progress and concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment conducive to learning and play
- Follow all safety protocols and school policies to ensure a secure setting for children
Skills
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is an asset
- Excellent communication skills in both French and English to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to manage diverse behavioral need
- Reliable, responsible, and committed to providing a positive afterschool experience for students
Pay: $22.80 per hour
