What are we looking for?
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Code Instructor (Sensei) to join our educational team. In this role, you will be responsible for teaching coding concepts and fostering a love for technology among young learners. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, a strong background in mathematics and computer skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves guiding students through coding concepts, problem-solving, and developing their digital literacy skills in a classroom or workshop setting. This position offers an opportunity to inspire the next generation of coders in a supportive and engaging environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lesson plans focused on coding, computer science, and related topics tailored to kids of age groups (5-14)
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Utilize classroom experience and computer skills to manage educational activities effectively.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth
- Foster problem-solving skills, creativity, and critical thinking through interactive projects
- Maintain classroom organization and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times
- Collaborate with parents and staff to support student development and address individual needs
Qualifications
- Prior experience in tutoring or teaching young children, preferably within early childhood education or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of coding languages, programming concepts, or computer science fundamentals.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms suitable for children.
- Passion for working with children and fostering their interest in technology and learning.
- Patience, creativity, enthusiasm to inspire young learners with a genuine passion for technology
- Ability to create an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and learning needs.
- Relevant certifications or training in early childhood education or teaching are a plus but not required.
Pay: From $15.50 per hour
