Certified Ophthalmic Assistant – Dr. Robin Bruen, Ophthalmology
Location: Brantford, Ontario Full‑time
Role Summary
Dr. Robin Bruen’s Ophthalmology practice is seeking a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) to support patient care and clinical operations in a fast‑paced, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical testing — Visual acuity, tonometry, visual fields, OCT, A‑scan, and biometry for cataract surgery.
- Patient preparation — Histories, exam prep, and patient flow.
- Procedure assistance — Support during in‑office procedures.
- Equipment management — Cleaning, calibration, and readiness.
- Administrative support — Scheduling and EMR documentation (Accuro presently).
- Patient education — Treatment and follow‑up instructions.
Qualifications
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA).
- 1–2 years ophthalmic or optometric experience preferred.
- Competence with A‑scan and cataract biometry.
- Strong communication and patient‑care skills.
- EMR experience (Accuro presently) an asset.
