Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HR & Payroll Administrator to join our team! In this vital role, you will oversee the accurate processing of payroll, manage human resources data, and ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations. Your proactive approach will support our employees’ needs, streamline HR and payroll operations, and contribute to a positive workplace environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your expertise in HRIS systems, accounting software, and payroll management tools to make a real impact every day.
Duties
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments for all employees and interns.
- Maintain and update employee records within HRIS platforms ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Conduct data entry for new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and benefits enrollment with precision.
- Assist with human resources functions including onboarding, policy implementation, and employee inquiries.
- Analyze payroll reports and HR data to identify discrepancies or areas for process improvement; prepare detailed reports for management review.
- Support compliance efforts by ensuring adherence to legal regulations related to payroll taxes, labor laws, and reporting requirements.
- Support other business operations including proposal development and various other adminstrative tasks as assigned.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of payroll processing procedures combined with familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks Enterprise.
- Ensure compliance with the ESA, Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act and Human Rights Code
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members across departments.
What you Bring
- 1+ years of full-cycle payroll experience, including experince in a unionized environment
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation from the National Payroll Institute, or actively working toward it
- Working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and experience applying a collective agreement in practice
- Experience with payroll software QuickBooks Enterprise and strong Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and comfortable reconciling numbers across multiple sources and reports
- Sound judgment and discretion with confidential information
- Clear, calm communication with employees, supervisors and union representatives
- Experience with CLAC remittance reporting is an asset
- Experience supporting more than one legal entity or payroll is an asset

- Salary of $50,000 – $65,000, based on experience
