Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Dispatcher/Customer Service representative to join our team. This role is vital in coordinating transportation logistics, managing shipments, and providing exceptional service to clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency with various management systems, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic supply chain operation, supporting freight movement and shipping & receiving processes.
Duties
- Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and SyteLine software.
- Manage shipping & receiving activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of goods.
- Utilize multi-line phone systems and maintain professional phone etiquette when communicating with clients, carriers, and internal teams.
- Enter data accurately into AS400 and other relevant databases, maintaining up-to-date records of shipments and inventory.
- Analyze shipping data to identify trends or issues affecting supply chain efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with 3PL providers, carriers, and internal departments to facilitate smooth logistics operations.
- Monitor freight movements, troubleshoot delays or discrepancies, and provide solutions promptly.
- Assist with documentation related to shipping & receiving processes, including tracking shipments and updating status reports.
- Support inventory management activities by coordinating with warehouse staff for shipping schedules.
Requirements
- Proven experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), AS400, SyteLine, and shipping & receiving operations.
- Strong understanding of supply chain logistics, freight management, and 3PL services.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in typing and multi-line phone systems.
- Strong analysis skills to interpret shipping data and identify operational improvements.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience working with freight carriers, shippers, and warehouse teams preferred.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
This role is essential for ensuring seamless transportation coordination and delivering outstanding customer service within our logistics operations.
Pay: $40,000.00-$44,000.00 per year
