Overview
Courtyard Events is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Event Service Lead to support the successful execution of events during the holiday season while providing on-shift leadership to Event Service Staff. This role acts as the primary point of responsibility during assigned shifts, ensuring service standards are met, team members are supported, and all operational and financial close-out duties are completed accurately before the venue is secured for the night.
The Event Service Lead is a working lead who actively participates in event service while overseeing end-of-event procedures, including cashouts, deposits, and final checks.
Key Responsibilities
Event Leadership & Oversight
· Act as the on-shift lead for assigned events, providing guidance, direction, and support to Event Service Staff.
· Ensure all service standards, policies, and procedures are followed throughout the event.
· Serve as a point of escalation for guest or staff concerns, resolving issues professionally and efficiently.
Event Setup, Service & Tear Down
· Assist with event setup and tear down, including tables, chairs, décor, and service stations.
· Provide professional, attentive food and beverage service throughout the event.
· Ensure event spaces are left clean, organized, and fully reset according to standards.
Cash Handling & End-of-Night Procedures
· Oversee and complete end-of-event cashouts, including reconciliation of tills, cash boxes, and POS reports.
· Prepare and verify nightly deposits in accordance with company cash-handling procedures.
· Ensure all financial documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted as required.
Operational Close-Out & Security
· Confirm all event tasks and checklists are completed prior to close.
· Conduct final walkthroughs of event spaces, service areas, and storage areas.
· Secure the venue at the end of the night, including locking doors and ensuring all safety and security procedures are followed.
Team Collaboration & Communication
· Liaise with event coordinators, kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless event execution.
· Communicate any incidents, issues, or operational notes to management following the event.
Additional Duties
· Perform other duties as assigned to support successful event operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
· Previous experience in hospitality or event service required; lead or supervisory experience is an asset.
· Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and attention to detail, particularly with cash handling.
· Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a calm, professional demeanor.
· Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs, bend, stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
