Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Childcare Cook-Short Term/Supply to join our team in providing nutritious and appealing meals for children in our care. This role involves preparing, serving, and handling food in a safe and hygienic manner, ensuring that all meals meet health standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation and food service, with a passion for creating healthy meals for children and knowledge on meal accommodations due to allergies and/or other circumstances.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks tailored to children's dietary needs
- Handle food ingredients safely, following proper storage and handling procedures
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and organized kitchen that meets or exceeds all requirements from the Health Department and Cobblestone Child Care standards
- Follow all safety protocols related to food handling and sanitation to prevent contamination or accidents
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Safe Food Handling Certification
- Knowledge and familiarity of cooking for large groups and accommodating allergies/restrictions
- First Aid/CPR Level C
- Familiar with the Child Care and Early Years Act, Canada's Food Guide and Health Sanitary Regulations
- Vulnerable Sector Check
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
