Avion Technologies Inc. is a Canadian precision manufacturing company serving the aerospace, defence, and nuclear industries. We specialize in the manufacture of high-precision machined components and assemblies for some of the world's leading OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
We are currently looking for a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Machine Operator to join our growing production team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC lathe machines in accordance with production schedules and work instructions.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and work orders.
- Produce precision-machined components to tight tolerances while meeting quality and production requirements.
- Perform in-process inspections using measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and thread gauges.
- Complete dimensional inspection reports accurately.
- Perform tool offset adjustments, tool wear compensation, and basic troubleshooting at the machine.
- Edit CNC programs at the machine control (Fanuc or similar controls).
- Maintain efficient workflow by ensuring completed jobs move promptly to the next operation or inspection.
- Follow all quality procedures, work instructions, and AS9100 manufacturing requirements.
- Work collaboratively with Team Leaders and other production personnel.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Preferred Experience
Experience with the following will be considered strong assets:
- Setup and operation of 2-axis, live-tooling, Y-axis, sub-spindle, or multi-axis CNC lathes.
- Turning aerospace materials including titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Bar feeder setup and operation.
- Multi-machine operation.
- Participation in First Article Inspection (AS9102).
- Reading and following control plans and manufacturing documentation.
- Understanding of nonconformance and discrepant material procedures under AS9100.
Qualifications Required
- Previous CNC lathe or conventional machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and engineering blueprints.
- Working knowledge of precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Avion Technologies Inc. is a Controlled Goods Registered facility. Successful candidates must be eligible to work in Canada and must successfully complete security screening, including a police records check, as required under the Controlled Goods Program.
