About the Property:
Grosvenor Square is a beautifully maintained, mixed-use commercial and residential heritage building located in the heart of the Crescentwood/Earl Grey area. The property consists of 7 unique residential suites, 2 adjacent townhouse units, and a group of professional commercial businesses operating on the main level.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a professional, highly organized, and mechanically inclined Resident Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, cleanliness, and maintenance of this boutique portfolio. This is not just a cleaning role; we are looking for a skilled individual who is maintenance oriented, can act as the face of the property, and offer professional service to our residential and commercial tenants. This is a live on site position.
Position Flexibility & Ideal Candidate: Please note that this is not a full-time role. It offers excellent flexibility with self-scheduling, allowing you to manage your own hours provided the building and grounds remain clean and safe, suites are kept tenant-ready, and scheduled contractor appointments are taken care of promptly. This position is absolutely perfect for someone who is recently retired, or someone with existing part-time employment, who is mechanically inclined and looking to take pride in maintaining a beautiful heritage building.
Key Responsibilities:
- Property Maintenance & Handyman Work: Perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance (plumbing, light electrical, carpentry, painting).
- Building Systems Oversight: Monitor and understand the building's heating, mechanical, and safety systems, troubleshooting minor issues and coordinating with specialized contractors when required.
- Janitorial & Groundskeeping: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in all common areas, hallways, and entryways. Manage seasonal groundskeeping, including snow removal and salting of walkways.
- Tenant & Commercial Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for residential residents and commercial business owners. Respond to inquiries, maintenance requests, and emergencies with a polished, professional demeanor.
- Owner Liaison: Work closely with property management and regularly liaise with the building owner to provide operational updates, and ensure the building is cared for.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Resident Manager, Caretaker, or Handyman (experience in older or heritage buildings is considered a strong asset).
- Technical Skills: Strong, demonstrable handyman skills and a solid understanding of basic building mechanical systems.
- Professionalism: Exceptional communication skills and a clean, professional demeanor suitable for interacting with commercial clients and business owners.
- Reliability: Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be physically fit and capable of handling seasonal outdoor manual labor (snow shoveling, lifting maintenance equipment).
