The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors and is accountable for the effective administration and management of the Ile a la Crosse Residential School Legacy Fund.
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and management of the Ile a la Crosse Residential School Legacy Fund (the "Legacy Fund"). Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight to ensure the Legacy Fund fulfills its mandate, maintains strong governance practices, supports Legacy Projects, and responsibly manages financial and organizational resources.
The Executive Director serves as the principal advisor to the Board, liaison with government and stakeholders, and steward of the Legacy Fund's administration, ensuring accountability, transparency, and alignment with the organization's mission, values, and governing documents.
Key Responsibilities include Governance and Board Support, Membership Administration, Strategic Leadership, Legacy Fund Administration, Legacy Projects, Financial Management, Risk Management and Compliance, Government and Stakeholder Relations, and Communications and Reporting.
Qualifications of Candidates should include:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Indigenous Governance, Law, Finance, Community Development, or a related field.
- A combination of education and significant relevant experience may be considered.
Experience
- Minimum five to seven years of progressively responsible senior management experience, preferably within a not-for-profit, Indigenous, governmental, or community-based organization.
- Experience supporting Boards of Directors and governance processes.
- Experience in financial management, budgeting, policy development, and strategic planning.
- Experience managing grants, funding programs, or community investment initiatives is considered an asset.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities, organizations, and governments is highly desirable.

- Knowledge of Indigenous governance, community engagement, and reconciliation initiatives.
- Strong financial management and budget administration skills.

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
