Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our growing team in Fort McMurray, Alberta. We are looking for either a Journeyman Carpenter or someone with 10+ years of well-rounded carpentry experience who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in renovations, finishing carpentry, commercial carpentry, and general maintenance, and is confident working independently while providing excellent customer service. We are looking for someone who is dependable, accountable, adaptable, and committed to completing projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Complete commercial and residential renovation projects
- Perform finishing carpentry, including trim, doors, baseboards, cabinetry, and millwork
- Complete general carpentry maintenance and repair work
- Perform deck construction, repairs, and exterior carpentry projects as required
- Install framing, drywall, flooring, and other carpentry components as required
- Complete minor and major drywall repairs and installations
- Perform interior and exterior painting when required
- Complete flooring installations and refurbishment projects
- Interpret drawings and specifications when required
- Meet with clients to discuss repair and renovation solutions
- Explain repair requirements and recommendations clearly and professionally
- Maintain an accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and materials
- Follow all company safety policies and safe work practices
- Work independently and collaboratively to complete projects on schedule
- Work outdoors and at heights when required
Experience
- Journeyman Carpenter certification OR 10+ years of well-rounded carpentry experience
- Strong experience in renovations, finishing carpentry, commercial carpentry, and general carpentry
- Experience with residential and commercial construction and renovations
- Ability to complete projects with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Comfortable working at heights
- Committed to maintaining a safe work environment
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime as required
- Weekends as needed
