Store Assistant
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and personable Store Assistant to join our retail team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with product merchandising, and supporting sales activities. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus to better serve diverse customer needs.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs
- Conduct product demonstrations and explain features to customers
- Support merchandising efforts by organizing displays and stock replenishment
- Operate POS systems for transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance sales
- Maintain organized and clean store areas, ensuring products are properly displayed
- Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed promptly
- Assist with inventory management and stock organization
- Provide feedback on customer preferences and product demand to management
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales, technical sales, or merchandising is preferred
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin) are highly desirable
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic math skills
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Ability to perform product demos and upsell effectively
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Professional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities
