The Opportunity: An Academic Assistant to perform administrative duties and associated functions to the Dean, faculty (full-time & part-time) and students for a variety of programs and services within the School. The incumbent exercises initiative, judgment and problem solving to ensure the needs of students are met. The position develops and maintains effective and efficient systems for the school office. A high level of confidentiality is associated with this position.
What you need to be successful:
- Diploma in Office Administration or a related field
- Minimum three years’ related work experience
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Must be self-motivated and have capacity to work independently
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
- Additional requirements include: strong public relations skills, organizational and clerical skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience working in an educational setting, supporting/guiding students is an asset
This is an Appendix D Support Staff position, up to 6 months, 35 hours/week, Payband G - $34.60/hour - $39.93/hour (starting rate $34.60/hour).
