Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and caring Camp Counselors to join our summer camp team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with children in a dynamic outdoor environment, fostering their growth and development through engaging activities and mentorship. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children, possess strong communication skills, and enjoy creating a positive and safe camp experience for all participants. Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or early childhood education is a plus, but a genuine interest in working with children is essential. This position provides valuable hands-on experience in child development and leadership, making it perfect for individuals interested in education or youth services.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in a variety of recreational activities, including sports, arts and crafts, games, and educational programs
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times by monitoring activities and enforcing camp rules
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, and confidence among campers
- Assist with daily camp routines such as meal times, rest periods, and transition between activities
- Provide guidance and mentorship to help children develop social skills and self-esteem
- Collaborate with fellow counselors to plan and execute age-appropriate activities that align with camp goals
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding camper progress or concerns when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of activity areas and equipment
Experience
- Previous experience working with children is highly desirable, especially in tutoring, teaching, or early childhood education roles
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children of diverse backgrounds
- Experience in organizing or leading group activities is a plus
- Passion for outdoor activities, recreation, or youth development is preferred
