The Department of Infrastructure (INF) provides high quality services to the public and Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) departments, boards and agencies including the planning, design, construction, acquisition, operation and maintenance of public transportation infrastructure and the buildings, works and equipment required for the GNWT to deliver its programs and services. INF makes essential petroleum products available for sale to the public where these products are not provided by the private sector, and promotes the development and increased use of energy efficient technologies. INF also regulates electrical and mechanical safety services and licenses individuals and vehicles operating in the territory.

The Regional Manager, Projects position is located in Hay River and will manage a team of technologist/technicians providing project management to client departments, boards or other agencies, for the planning, design and construction of municipal works, fuel storage facilities, buildings and other Capital projects in the South Slave and Deh Cho regions.
Critical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of project management process in a northern environment
- Negotiating skills to manage large complex projects and deal with contractors and consultants.
- Must possess excellent estimating and financial skills to develop and control budgets for Capital and O&M projects.
- Decision making and problem-solving skills to solve and initiate corrective action to problems encountered during the project management process.
Typically attained by
Degree in Engineering or Architecture with 5 years of experience in project management, one of which would include supervisory experience.
Equivalencies may include
- Masters in Engineering or Architecture with 3 years of experience in project management, one of which would include supervisory experience.
- Diploma in Engineering or Architecture with 7 years of experience in project management, one of which would include supervisory experience.
