You’ve got the basics. Now you need a shop that will actually help you get good.
You’re through your first year of apprenticeship. You know your way around a shop, you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty, and you’ve figured out that becoming a great technician takes a lot more than changing tires and doing oil changes.
Red Deer Kia is looking for a 2nd Year Automotive Apprentice Technician who wants to learn, work, and keep moving forward.
We’re looking for someone hungry to develop their skills alongside experienced technicians who are willing to help—not a shop where you’re expected to figure everything out alone.
This is a great opportunity to build your career with Landsperg Automotive Group, a growing Canadian automotive group where good people still get noticed and there’s room to build a career.
What you’ll get here
Real experience.
As your skills grow, so will the work you’re exposed to. The goal is to develop you into a strong, well-rounded technician—not keep you stuck doing apprentice work forever.
Technicians you can learn from.
Work alongside experienced Journeyman technicians who know the trade and understand the importance of developing the next generation of techs.
A busy dealership environment.
You need vehicles in your bay to get better. You’ll have the opportunity to build your speed, confidence, diagnostic ability, and repair skills through hands-on experience.
A path forward.
Second year should lead to third year. Third year should lead to Journeyman. And Journeyman should open even more doors. We want people who are interested in building a career, not just finding their next job.
A smaller automotive group where you can make a name for yourself.
LAG is growing, but we haven’t lost the ability to know who our people are. You’re not employee number 4,782 in a giant corporate machine. Work hard, develop your skills, and people will notice.
What you’ll be doing
- Performing maintenance, inspections, and repairs under the guidance of licensed technicians
- Diagnosing and repairing vehicles within your current skill and apprenticeship level
- Learning proper diagnostic processes instead of simply replacing parts
- Developing your mechanical, electrical, and technical knowledge
- Completing work accurately and efficiently
- Following manufacturer procedures and dealership safety standards
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
- Asking questions, taking feedback, and continuously improving
- Working toward the next level of your apprenticeship
We’d love to meet you if you:
- Are currently registered as a 2nd Year Automotive Service Technician Apprentice
- Have some hands-on dealership or automotive repair experience
- Take pride in doing work properly
- Show up ready to work and ready to learn
- Want feedback and aren't afraid to ask questions
- Have a valid driver's licence
- Work well as part of a team
- Actually want to become a great technician
Why Red Deer Kia?
Because your apprenticeship matters.
The shop you spend these years in will have a huge impact on the technician you eventually become. You should be somewhere that gives you the work, exposure, coaching, and opportunity to keep progressing.
If you’re a 2nd Year Apprentice looking at your current shop thinking, “I should be learning more than this,” we should probably talk.
