Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for casual, flexible shifts to provide high-quality patient care across various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in nursing home, hospital, or acute care environments and possess strong clinical skills to support patients of all ages, including seniors, children, and those requiring hospice or dementia care. Duties
- Administer medications and treatments accurately according to physician orders
- Monitor patient vital signs and assess health status regularly
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Provide wound care, including dressing changes and wound assessments
- Perform phlebotomy and laboratory specimen collection as needed
- Document patient information accurately using electronic health records such as Epic or Cerner systems
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement care plans
- Educate patients and families on health management, medication use, and post-discharge care
- Support patients with activities of daily living and ensure their comfort and safety
- Maintain a clean and safe environment adhering to infection control protocols
Skills
- Proven experience in nursing home, hospital, or acute care settings; experience with dementia, pediatrics, or hospice care is a plus
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and patient care procedures
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with attention to detail in fast-paced environments
- Compassionate approach to caring for diverse patient populations including seniors, children, and those with complex medical needs
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures such as phlebotomy and pain management techniques is desirable
- Experience in case management or medical office settings enhances ability to coordinate comprehensive patient care
