The Calgary Police Youth Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to protecting our city's most at-risk youth from crime and victimization. Through our Programs and Community Initiatives, we focus on early intervention, crime prevention, risk reduction, and education. Each year, we support over 30,000 children, striving to enrich and improve every life we touch. We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the operational delivery and expansion of the Integrated School Support Program (ISSP), an innovative, multi-partner initiative supporting vulnerable children and youth in schools across Alberta.
Position Overview:
This is an opportunity to lead a complex provincial program that brings together schools, police, mental health professionals, community organizations, and government partners to improve outcomes for elementary age students.
Reporting to the Executive Director, you will ensure the program is delivered consistently across participating schools, meets all funding and contractual requirements, and continues to grow and improve through strong partnerships and operational excellence.
What You Will Do
As Program Manager, you will:
- Lead the implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of ISSP across participating schools.
- Build strong relationships with school divisions, principals, police services, mental health professionals, community partners, and government funders.
- Develop implementation plans and onboard schools into the program.
- Ensure consistent program delivery, quality standards, and compliance with funding agreements and service expectations.
- Oversee contracts, service agreements, operational policies, and program documentation.
- Monitor program performance, identify risks, solve operational challenges, and implement improvements.
- Provide leadership to the Program Coordinator while working closely with the Program Evaluator and Financial Controller.
- Represent the Foundation with key stakeholders and contribute to the long-term sustainability and growth of the program.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a strategic, collaborative leader who has successfully implemented and managed complex programs across multiple sites not someone who has simply administered an existing program.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 7–10 years' progressive experience in program development, implementation, or program management, including several years in a leadership role.
- Experience designing, refining, scaling, or implementing programs across multiple locations.
- Strong knowledge of operational planning, implementation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
- Experience managing grant-funded programs, funding agreements, compliance requirements, service level agreements, risk management, and program accountability.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with schools, government, police, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and computer skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in education, public administration, social work, psychology, criminology, sociology, public health, nonprofit management, child and youth studies, or a related field.
Highly Desirable
Experience working with schools, school divisions, police services, mental health professionals, child and youth-serving organizations, or government-funded initiatives will be highly regarded.
Why Join Us?
At Calgary Police Youth Foundation, you will lead a high-impact provincial initiative that helps prevent crime, improves student wellbeing, and strengthens communities. You will work alongside passionate professionals and community partners while helping shape the future of one of Alberta's most innovative school-based support programs.
If you are an experienced program leader who enjoys building partnerships, solving complex challenges, and delivering measurable community impact, we would love to hear from you.
