Job Overview
We are hiring skilled Lead Framer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various framing techniques and a solid understanding of building structures. This role involves working with a variety of materials and tools to construct, repair, and restore frameworks for residential projects. The Lead Framer will be responsible for ensuring that all work meets quality standards and adheres to safety regulations. Reliable transportation required, work is in Cochrane, AB.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work with strong attention to details.
Pay is biweekly as a sub contractor (GST number required). Year round work available.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine project specifications
- Perform heavy lifting and maneuver materials as needed during construction
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and assembling materials
- Efficiently communicate and lead a framing crew
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols
Experience / Requirements
- proven experience as a Lead Framer (3+ years preferred)
- strong leadership and communication skills
- fluent in English (spoken/written)
- experience in reading schematics and technical drawings is essential
- expert understanding of roof building systems (truss, rafters, sheathing, etc.)
- ability to lead a crew and manage timelines
