The WISE Charter School is an established and growing K-9 Waldorf public charter school. Any successful applicant must be passionate about learning and implementing Waldorf pedagogy as part of the delivery of a second-language ( French ) course. In-house mentoring is also provided.
Qualifications:
- Alberta Teaching Certificate

Must be fluent (reading, writing and speaking) in French and English
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask with confidence
- Excellent classroom management skills

Creativity and independence in lesson planning skills

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge /or interest in learning about Waldorf pedagogy preferred
Salary and Benefits:
- For instruction of French for grades 6-9.
- Days of instruction are Mondays and Tuesdays
- Additional substitute teaching hours are available for class teaching or elective (Kindergarten-grade 9) if additional work is desired.
- Competitive salary. The compensation components outlined above are based on a 0.25 FTE position. The salary range referenced above will be determined according to the candidate’s years of experience and education on the teaching salary grid.

Responsibilities:
Evaluate each student’s academic, emotional and social progress on an ongoing basis.
Report to parents regularly through parent-teacher conferences, mid-term reports, end-of-year reports and meeting with parents as required.
Where necessary, liaise with colleagues, administration and other professionals to address individual children’s particular needs.
- Ensures that all curriculum content aligns with Waldorf Education and its principles.
- Ensures that all requirements for the classroom curriculum are met for each grade. Specifically, this includes lesson preparation, instruction, documentation, assessment and follow-up.
- Maintain and contribute to a clean classroom, adhering to a Waldorf aesthetic of simple beauty, tidiness, and calm.
- Incorporate cultural activities, foods, festivals, etc. to enrich student learning.
Supervision duties as required.
