We are currently looking for casual employees to fill morning, evening, and overnight shifts at our group homes.
Please note that we require all employees to have their full driver's license. Candidates who do not have a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License (or equivalent) will not be considered eligible for this position.
Responsibilities and Physical Requirements:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting Core Members with personal care.
- Preparing meals/snacks.
- Accompanying Core Members to social/personal activities outside of the home.
- Booking and attending health practitioner appointments.
- Helping Core Members maintain all social relationships.
- Ensuring that all physical, emotional, spiritual, and vocational needs of the Core Members are met.
Physical requirements of the job are as follows:
- Walk a minimum of 160 minutes.
- Push/pull wheelchairs on both flat and inclined surfaces.
- Climb stairs to a maximum of 3 stories.
- Bend, twist, and turn at waist, squat, kneel, reach, and lift.
- Participate in recreational activities including but not limited to swimming, biking, bowling, soccer, basketball, floor hockey, etc.
- Carry and hold at least 1/3 of your body weight.

Mandatory Requirements & Qualifications:
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Negative TB Test
- B.C. Medical Insurance (MSP or equivalent)
- Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C
- Class 5 BC Drivers License
- Minimum 1 year of experience in support work, a degree/certificate in a similar field, or a combination of experience/education. Preferred certifications include Community Support Worker or Health Care Assistant.
Willingness to obtain and maintain as required:
- Up-to-date immunizations (Covid-19, Flu, etc.)
- Food Safe Training
- Sign Language Training
- WHMIS Training
- Naloxone Training
- Crisis Intervention Training (NVCI, Mandt, etc.)
- CLBC Privacy Training
