Job Summary
As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Field Project Coordinator to support the safe, timely, and high-quality delivery of exterior construction projects. This full-time, field-based role requires a minimum of 2 years of hail restoration experience and a strong understanding of roofing, siding, and soft metal systems. Working closely with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams, the successful candidate will coordinate projects, perform quality control inspections, assess service requests, identify and diagnose deficiencies, complete minor repairs, and document site conditions while ensuring clear communication and a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete the site-finalization checklist for each project, confirming completion with photos and final site documentation
- Perform field post-work inspections and ensure all installations meet company standards, manufacturer specifications, and best practices
- Perform in-progress site visits to ensure proper installation, safety compliance and building code adherence.
- Perform property damage inspections on the ground and roof
- Coordinate projects from start to completion, including labour, subcontractors, materials, and equipment
- Troubleshoot site challenges, perform minor roofing and exterior repairs, and identify and resolve warranty-related deficiencies, including roof leaks and other building envelope issues.
- Support Project Managers with scheduling, planning, and execution
- Act as a point of contact for clients and subcontractors
- Collect company and client deposit cheques
- Keep inventory count of assigned tools and equipment
- Pick up and deliver materials as required
- Perform site clean-ups where necessary
- Manage Avalon vehicle maintenance: perform a weekly full check of each vehicle (oil, tire pressure, washing, interior and exterior cleaning, logs, and overall vehicle health)
- Support sourcing subcontractors when needed
- Support the Care Team with field distribution of marketing materials and ensure the Avalon brand is visibly present
- Coordinate tasks related to Avalon team and site deliverables.
- Maintain accurate, detailed and up to date records using company software and mobile applications
- Assisting the company owners with tasks not related to Avalon's day-to-day operations, only at the direction of the direct supervisor or an owner
Skills and Educational Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the roofing or exterior construction industry
- Strong knowledge of installation techniques, including roofing systems, siding, and soft metal work
- Proficient with smartphones and basic computer applications
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of motivation and initiative
- Effective problem-solving and conflict management abilities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid safety certifications such as Fall Protection, CSTS, and First Aid are considered assets
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely access and inspect all roof types, including steep and high roofs (required)
- Comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders (required)
- Physically fit and capable of performing demanding tasks related to roofing and exterior repairs
- Ability to walk on uneven terrain and active construction sites
- Capable of lifting and carrying materials exceeding 25 kg
- Willingness to work overtime as required
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and environments
Travel Requirements
- Based in Calgary, Alberta, with regular travel to surrounding areas for inspections, service work, meetings, and project support
- Occasional overnight travel may be required depending on workload and project needs
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of hail restoration experience (required)
- Minimum 2 years of roofing or exterior experience (preferred)
- Experience coordinating construction projects is considered an asset
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (required)
- HAAG Certification (preferred)
- Proficiency in Buildertrend or similar construction management software (preferred)
