Job Description: Overnight Attendant

Position Summary
The Overnight Attendant plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and cleanliness of Carriage Ridge Resort during overnight hours. This position is responsible for completing nightly hotel accounting and reporting functions, providing Front Desk services for guest check-ins and check-outs, maintaining clean and welcoming common areas, and conducting routine security patrols of the entire property. The Overnight Attendant serves as the primary on-site contact overnight, providing a calm, professional presence and responding appropriately to guest needs and property concerns.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk & Guest Services
· Serve as the primary Front Desk representative during overnight hours.
· Complete guest check-ins and check-outs accurately and efficiently.
· Verify guest identification, process payments, and issue room keys.
· Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns in a courteous and professional manner.
· Handle reservation adjustments, room changes, and extensions as required.
· Answer and route incoming phone calls and manage after-hours communications.
Night Audit & Hotel Accounting
· Complete nightly audit procedures in accordance with resort standards and accounting policies.
· Balance daily revenue including room charges, cash, and credit card transactions.
· Prepare and distribute daily financial and operational reports.
· Post room charges, adjustments, and incidental fees accurately.
· Identify and report discrepancies or irregularities to management.
· Secure and properly store all financial records and cash.
Common Area Cleaning & Presentation
· Clean and maintain all public areas including lobby, common areas, washrooms, changerooms and pool / recreational facilities.
· Replenish supplies such as towels, paper products and soaps as required.
· Ensure common areas are safe, tidy, and presentable for early-morning guests.
· Report maintenance issues, pool chemical testing, safety hazards, or cleanliness concerns promptly.
Security & Property Patrols
· Conduct scheduled security patrols of interior and exterior property areas.
· Monitor for unauthorized access, safety risks, noise disturbances, or unusual activity.
· Enforce resort policies professionally and respectfully.
· Respond to emergencies, guest concerns, alarms, or incidents following established procedures.
· Complete incident reports accurately and in a timely manner.
Communication & Shift Handover
· Maintain accurate overnight logs documenting guest activity and incidents.
· Communicate clearly with morning staff regarding outstanding issues or follow-up items.
Qualifications & Skills
· Previous experience in hospitality, night audit, security, or a related role preferred.
· Basic understanding of hotel accounting or willingness to learn.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills.
· Clear communication skills and professional demeanor.
· Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
· Overnight shifts including weekends and holidays.
· Ability to stand, walk, and patrol the property for extended periods.
· Ability to lift and move light cleaning equipment and supplies.
· Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
· Proven ability to be self-motivated and work independently.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $19.00-$19.50 per hour
Work Location: In person
