Madera Forest Products is looking for a Production Labourer to join the team. We are a lumber wholesale and remanufacturing company in Acheson, AB. We are looking to add a hard working and diligent employee to our line that has experience in lumber remanufacturing. The job is full time and permanent. The shift structure is 4 days/week (Monday to Thursday), 10 hours per day with OT opportunities.
Duties and responsibilities of the position include:
- Operating machinery, which may include, but is not limited to: Re-saw and Chop Saw, Assisting with the Lath Machine, operating a Forklift and Skid-Steer, operating the Trim Saw (training provided on the job for some these roles to the successful candidate-not expected to have experience with all of these tasks listed above)
- Be able to work on the production line with consistent speed and accuracy
- Be able to maintain production standards and work towards improving productivity without compromising quality
- Rotating through various job responsibilities and tasks within your assigned team on an hourly basis. Review work to ensure accuracy and precision. Adhering to schedules to maintain production timeliness. Apply your knowledge, skills, and experience to analyze, trouble shoot and communicate with your team lead and maintenance to get things back on track
- Responsible for feeding raw materials into machinery and stacking/strapping finished goods
- Taking responsibility for contributing to a safe work environment for coworkers, customers, and site visitors.
- Being open to performing other duties related to the position as necessary.
Holding a valid drivers' license and forklift certification is an asset. Any lumber grading experience or first aid training is also beneficial.
