Powerent is growing and currently seeking a Rental Technician to join our Edmonton team.
This is a hands-on, technical role responsible for ensuring our electrical test equipment rental fleet meets the highest standards of quality, reliability, and readiness. The ideal candidate takes pride in precision, problem-solving, and delivering equipment that customers can depend on in the field.

Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Preparation & Quality Assurance
- Perform full inspection, testing, and “prep-to-ship” readiness of rental equipment.
- Check-in rental equipment upon return and assess for damage, missing components, or service requirements.
- Conduct function testing to ensure equipment is safe, accurate, and ready-to-rent.
- Perform minor repairs, adjustments, and maintenance as required.
- Document testing procedures, results, and equipment condition.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide technical support to customers in person and over the phone.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and field representatives to resolve technical malfunctions.
- Maintain logs and service documentation for fleet history and compliance.
Operations & Logistics
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities.
- Load and unload rental equipment on company vehicles, customer vehicles, and courier shipments.
- Deliver and pick up equipment when required.
- Maintain shop and storage areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Participate in quality control and safety initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Previous electronics or electrical background is considered a strong asset.
- Practical knowledge of electronics, mechanics, mathematics, and test equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with high standards for accuracy and quality.
- Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
