Position Summary
TPI Machine is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing in-process and final inspections of precision-machined components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-process, first article, and final inspections of machined parts.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Inspect critical dimensions, features, and tolerances using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, thread gauges, height gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Verify API thread profiles and dimensions using applicable thread gauges and standards, and demonstrate a strong understanding of relevant API specifications and requirements.
- Ensure compliance with customer, industry, and company quality requirements.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, quality records, and documentation.
- Identify, document, and process non-conforming products and assist with NCR investigations.
- Review material certifications and maintain traceability records.
- Work closely with production personnel to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of QC inspection experience in a machining or manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Thorough understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) – mandatory.
- Experience inspecting API threaded products and using API thread gauges is considered an asset, but not mandatory.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Experience in oil and gas machining and manufacturing environments.
