Speech Language Pathologist
Pay: $55-$75/hr
Job Title: Speech & Language Pathologist
There are jobs.
And then there are opportunities to build something that changes lives.
At Footholds Therapy Centre, we believe children deserve more than isolated therapy sessions. They deserve a team that truly knows them—a place where Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Behaviour Consultants, Counsellors, Art Therapists and families work together to help children thrive.
We’re looking for an exceptional Speech-Language Pathologist to join our growing interdisciplinary team serving children, youth and families across Vancouver Island.
This isn’t simply another caseload.
This is an opportunity to help shape the future of pediatric therapy.
About Footholds
Footholds has spent more than two decades supporting children and families with compassion, clinical excellence and innovation.
Our services include:
- Speech-Language Pathology
- Occupational Therapy
- Behaviour Consulting
- Counselling
- Art Therapy
- Family Support
- School Services
- Interdisciplinary Assessments
Our clinicians collaborate daily because we know children don’t experience life one discipline at a time.
Neither should therapy.
What You’ll Do
You’ll provide assessment and intervention for children and youth while working alongside an experienced interdisciplinary team.
You’ll have opportunities to:
- Complete comprehensive speech and language assessments
- Develop individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with OTs, Behaviour Consultants and Counsellors
- Support families and caregivers
- Work within clinics, schools, homes and community settings (based on your interests)
- Help shape innovative programs as our organization continues to grow
Most importantly, you’ll have the time and support to do meaningful work—not simply move from appointment to appointment.
What Makes Footholds Different?
We believe great clinicians deserve great workplaces.
At Footholds you’ll find:
- Genuine interdisciplinary collaboration
- Clinical autonomy and respect
- Flexible scheduling
- Choice of Nanaimo, Courtenay or a combination of both
- Beautiful therapy environments
- Paid professional development
- Opportunities for leadership and program development
- Administrative support so you can focus on your clients
- A leadership team that genuinely values clinician wellbeing
Our goal isn’t maximum productivity.
Our goal is exceptional outcomes—for children, families and our team.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who:
- Is registered (or eligible for registration) with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC
- Values collaboration over silos
- Loves working with children and families
- Thinks creatively
- Wants to continue learning
- Brings warmth, curiosity and kindness to their work
Experienced clinicians are encouraged to apply.
New graduates with exceptional clinical potential and a passion for pediatric practice are also welcome.
Life on Vancouver Island
Imagine finishing work and walking along the ocean.
Mountain biking before clinic.
Kayaking after work.
Raising your family surrounded by forests, beaches and an incredible community.
Nanaimo and the Comox Valley offer an exceptional quality of life while still providing meaningful and rewarding clinical work.
We’d Love to Meet You
Even if you’re not actively looking for a new position, we’d love to connect.
Sometimes the best opportunities begin with a conversation over coffee.
If you’re looking for more than just another job—and you’d like to help build one of Vancouver Island’s most collaborative pediatric therapy teams—we’d be honoured to hear from you.
