Join CPA Solutions as a full-time Senior Tax Specialist - Planning and Restructuring.
We are seeking an entrepreneurial and highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a Senior Tax Specialist - Planning and Restructuring. In this pivotal role, you will be the face of our firm, directly communicating with clients and reporting to the partners. This unique setting offers a variety of stimulating opportunities that will allow you to expand your knowledge and experience.
We are not your typical accounting firm – the focus of this position is mainly planning and restructuring. Some compliance work will be required but that is not the focus of this position.
We are looking for someone with a passion for delivering exceptional tax solutions and a strong desire to learn and grow. Organizational skills and effective deadline management are critical to success in this role. While technical skills are beneficial, they are not required; if you have a willingness to learn, we are more than happy to provide training and support.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Tax Specialist - Planning and Restructuring on our team, you will:
- Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct thorough research on tax laws and regulations to provide accurate and timely advice to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Offer expert guidance on complex tax issues, including mergers and acquisitions, and tax implications of various business structures.
- Assist in tax audits by providing necessary documentation and support, and represent the organization in discussions with tax authorities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of tax policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to provide updates on tax matters and ensure alignment on tax strategies.
- Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and industry best practices, and proactively suggest improvements to tax processes and procedures.
- Prepare and present detailed tax reports and analysis to clients, highlighting key issues and recommendations.
- Prepare and review corporate and personal tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial tax regulations.
- Assist with other duties as assigned or required.
Essential Qualifications
- CPA, CA designation and University degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience.
- Strong grasp of Canadian tax concepts related to private companies.
- Ability to prepare T1 and T2 tax returns and to review simpler ones.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with clients and team members.
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to deliver in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to muli-task.
- Ability to manage deadlines.
