ABA Kids is seeking a motivated and skilled Supervised Instructor Therapist to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children with special needs and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
The successful candidate will work one-on-one and in a group environment with youth from the ages of 2-18 years delivering ABA (comprehensive and focused ) therapy. This position requires flexibility in scheduling and availability for evenings in-clinic.
Please note that this full-time position requires availability during weekdays until 7pm
Key Responsibilities:
- May assist in activities related to the child/youth’s initial assessment.
- Delivering evidence based services directly to the child/youth. Services can be delivered in a variety of formats (e.g. group, individual, self-directed).
- Organizes program materials as per client treatment plans.
- Delivering evidence based behavioural services and training to build the family’s capacity to maintain and/or extend skills in the child/youth’s natural environments.
- Follow client Behaviour Plans, developed by the Senior Therapist and Senior Clinician.
- Collect and graphs data during ABA sessions, completes communication notes, and updates client binders accordingly.
- Provides ongoing communication to the RBA, Supervised ST and client parent/guardians as needed.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds when required and/or needed.
- Able to perform physical activities that are inherent when working with children (e.g. sitting on the floor, modeling appropriate tag play, running)
The Instructor Therapist Must Possess:
- Post secondary education in a related area such as Psychology, Behavioural Science, Early Childhood Education, Child & Youth Care.
- ***Graduate certificate in Autism and Behavioural Science is preferred.
- Knowledge of/experience in utilizing a variety of data collection methods.
- Strong time management skills and observation skills.
- Ability to effectively work within an interdisciplinary professional team.
- Assertiveness and ability to work independently.
- Ability to work within a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Extensive verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in delivering /knowledge of the VBMAPP assessment.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
