This position’s primary responsibility is to prepare winding and coring packages based on the shop production schedule and insulation data sheets and manage inventory and supplies. This role is well suited to someone who is mechanically minded, detail-driven, and comfortable turning technical information into accurate, hands-on work. The successful candidate will bring strong organization, careful material handling, and a quality-first mindset to every shop order, while staying alert to inventory needs, equipment condition, and potential discrepancies. Above all, this position calls for a dependable team player who takes pride in keeping production prepared, orderly, and moving safely forward.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Prepare winding and coring packages by reviewing shop schedules, insulation data sheets, drawings, winding specifications, and shop folders to identify required materials and cut them to specification.
- Punch holes into LV leads, place completed winding and coring packages onto shelves, and clearly mark each package with the applicable Shop Order (SO) number.
- Organize winding and coring shelving and supplies, retrieve materials from storage, and place received winding forms and crepe tubes onto back shelving.
- Monitor working supply inventory and notify the supervisor when additional materials, supplies, or support are required.
- Review Shop Orders against design documentation, report discrepancies, monitor equipment and tool condition, and maintain equipment such as the paper slitter, shears, and pneumatic punches.
- Performing other duties as allocated.

- Grade 12 education or equivalent is required.
- 6 months to 1 year of previous work experience in a manual labour position.
- The ability to work with and understand hand tools.
- Ability to work at sustained pace and produce quality work.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.
