The Crupi Group of Companies is a family-run business that has serviced Toronto and surrounding areas since 1951 in the road construction, aggregate material and maintenance industries.
The Construction Supervisor is responsible for effectively facilitating and executing assigned construction projects (grading, grinding, and asphalt & concrete operations) to maximize profit, safety and customer satisfaction and meet the company’s strategic goals.
This is a full-time, year-round salaried position.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in pre-construction meetings with Construction Manager and Estimator accepting project handoff documents from the estimators and review contract documents, estimate information, field conditions, client requirements and environmental concerns. Determine resource requirements and availability for project.
- Formulate an action plan and create a schedule in conjunction with the Construction Manager to execute the contract efficiently and safely. while managing manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors and trucking both on a short and long term basis for assigned projects.
- Responsible for job start up, implementing and enforcing the traffic protection plan maintaining all safety requirements on site.
- Responsible for project administration requirements such as:
- Verification of Daily Inspectors reports as to completeness and accuracy
- Verify Time Sheets as they pertain to their project.
- Verify, collate and ensure all material and equipment receipts/packing slips are turned in with the appropriate time sheets
- Supervise work to optimize productivity and ensure quality while promoting safety.
- Monitor project costs and quantities daily; generate and consider alternate cost saving construction methods, understanding that they are responsible to ensure project is completed on time and within budget.
- Deliver daily quantity reports to Field Coordinators and/or Construction Manager and/or Estimator.
- Promote skill development, encourage teamwork and motivate employees to optimize potential and maintain effective communication, and review jobs completed for possible areas of improvement.
- Train new employees and Junior Supervisors to provide experience and knowledge in completing and tendering projects.
- Ensure that the company receives proper compensation for all work done by measuring jobs after completion and reviewing job cost statements and by close out meetings with Construction Manager.
- Manage a snow-removal operation during the winter season which requires various shifts.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in road construction is required.
- Post-secondary education or training in an engineering program is an asset.
- Knowledge of construction practices, planning and scheduling.
- Aware of construction regulations and specifications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility: Available to work various shifts (days, nights, and weekends) as project demands require.
- ·A valid Ontario G license and an acceptable driver’s abstract is required to utilize a company truck.

Pay: $100,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
