About Everbloom Outdoor Therapy
Everbloom Outdoor Therapy is a nature-based paediatric occupational therapy practice that supports children and families through meaningful, relationship-focused experiences in outdoor environments. We believe children thrive through connection, play, movement, and access to supportive community spaces. Sessions take place outdoors in farm and nature settings and focus on emotional regulation, sensory processing, social participation, executive functioning, and confidence-building.
We are seeking a Registered Occupational Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide occupational therapy services within Cambridge Farm & Forest School programming and maintain an individual paediatric caseload within Everbloom's outdoor practice.
Position Overview
Everbloom is seeking a Registered Occupational Therapist to join our team in a blended clinical role that combines forest school support with an individual occupational therapy caseload.Forest School Embedded SupportApproximately 50% of the caseload will involve supporting Everbloom clients attending Cambridge Farm & Forest School. The Occupational Therapist will work alongside children within a natural, play-based learning environment, providing therapeutic support to promote self-regulation, social participation, transitions, and engagement in daily activities. This role requires collaboration with educators and families to support each child's participation and success within the program.Individual Occupational Therapy CaseloadThe remaining caseload will consist of individual occupational therapy services provided in Everbloom's nature-based setting. Responsibilities include completing assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, maintaining clinical documentation, collaborating with families and other professionals, and monitoring progress toward client-centred goals.This position is ideal for an Occupational Therapist who enjoys a combination of school-based and individual clinical practice and is interested in providing services in outdoor, nature-based environments.
Responsibilities
Forest School Stream
- Complete standardized and observational assessments and develop individualized, client-centred treatment plans
- Provide 1:1 support to neurodivergent children during Farm & Forest School programming
- Facilitate participation in outdoor play, group routines, nature exploration, and group activities
- Support emotional regulation, sensory processing, transitions, and peer interactions within natural environments
- Support safe participation in outdoor activities while promoting independence and self-advocacy.
- Implement evidence-informed, play-based intervention strategies to support regulation, engagement, and participation.
- Write clinical documentation including SOAP notes, progress summaries, and discharge reports
- Communicate assessment findings, intervention progress, and home programming recommendations with families using a family-centred approach.
- Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for all participants
Individual Therapy Stream
- Carry an independent 1:1 OT caseload within Everbloom's nature-based practice environments
- Complete standardized and observational assessments and develop individualized, client-centred treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based, occupation-focused therapy targeting sensory processing, regulation, motor development, social participation, and executive function
- Write clinical documentation including SOAP notes, progress summaries, and discharge reports
- Communicate progress and home strategies to families in a warm, accessible, family-centred manner
- Participate in case consultation, team meetings, and collaborative goal-setting with caregivers and other service providers
- Maintain registration and professional standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current registration in good standing with COTO
- Experience working with children with a range of neurodevelopmental needs in therapeutic, educational, or community settings
- Strong clinical reasoning across sensory processing, regulation, motor development, and social participation
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to work outdoors throughout the year in varying weather conditions.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check (required prior to start)
Preferred:
- Experience or advanced training in sensory integration, DIR/Floortime, or neurodevelopmental approaches
- Familiarity with nature-based, forest school, adventure therapy, or animal-assisted intervention models
