About the Internship
The Virtual Umbrella is seeking motivated and compassionate summer interns to support mental health clinics and community wellness initiatives. This internship provides students and emerging professionals with hands-on experience in mental health advocacy, administrative support, digital outreach, and client engagement within a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with virtual and in-person mental health program coordination
- Support clinic administration, scheduling, and client communication
- Help organize wellness workshops, outreach events, and awareness campaigns
- Create social media and educational content related to mental health and wellness
- Conduct research on community mental health resources and supports
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information
- Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and healthcare professionals on ongoing initiatives
Qualifications
- Current student or recent graduate in psychology, social work, healthcare, communications, or related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Interest in mental health advocacy and community support services
- Organized, reliable, and able to work independently
- Comfortable using virtual communication platforms and basic office software
- Experience with social media or community outreach is an asset
