Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will support seniors and individuals with disabilities by delivering personalized care that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being. This role involves working closely with clients to meet their daily needs while fostering a safe and comfortable environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration as prescribed and monitor for any adverse reactions
- Support clients with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a hygienic environment
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ quality of life
- Help with mobility and transfers using proper techniques to ensure safety
- Observe and report any changes in health or behavior to supervising healthcare professionals
- Assist with specialized care for clients with dementia or other cognitive impairments
- Support clients in engaging in recreational activities and social interactions
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings preferred
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring dementia care is highly desirable
- Ability to administer medication accurately following prescribed instructions
- Compassionate nature with excellent caregiving skills and patience
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation tasks as part of comprehensive care
- Certification or training in caregiving or home health aide is a plus but not mandatory
- Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to providing high-quality support to clients
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
