About Hudson
Hudson Condominium Solutions is a growing, technology-enabled HVAC company specializing in condominium mechanical systems, including fan coils, heat pumps, rooftop equipment, preventive maintenance, service, and large-scale capital replacement projects.
As Hudson continues to expand, we are looking for an experienced HVAC Project Manager to lead major building-wide retrofit projects across the Greater Toronto Area.
The Role
The HVAC Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing large-scale condominium retrofit projects involving the replacement of fan coils, heat pumps, and related mechanical equipment.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical knowledge, project coordination skills, and the ability to confidently represent Hudson when working with property managers, condominium boards, engineers, consultants, technicians, subcontractors, and residents.
The ideal candidate has previously managed large, occupied-building HVAC retrofit projects and understands the operational challenges involved in coordinating hundreds of in-suite replacements while maintaining quality, schedule, communication, and resident satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage building-wide HVAC retrofit projects from planning through completion.
- Oversee large-scale fan coil, heat pump, and mechanical equipment replacement programs.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and project documentation.
- Develop project schedules, work plans, sequencing strategies, and daily production targets.
- Coordinate technicians, installers, subcontractors, suppliers, deliveries, equipment, and site access.
- Ensure crews remain productive and projects stay on schedule and within budget.
- Conduct site reviews and verify that installations meet Hudson standards, engineering requirements, and applicable codes.
- Identify and resolve installation issues, deficiencies, access challenges, resident concerns, and unforeseen site conditions.
- Communicate regularly with property managers, condominium boards, engineers, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
- Attend project meetings and represent Hudson professionally throughout the duration of the project.
- Coordinate resident notices, suite-access schedules, shutdowns, inspections, testing, commissioning, and deficiency completion.
- Maintain accurate project records, progress reports, change-order documentation, deficiency lists, and closeout materials.
- Monitor project costs, labour productivity, materials, equipment procurement, and project risks.
- Support internal teams with project forecasting, staffing requirements, procurement planning, and operational improvements.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies and health and safety requirements.
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of HVAC, mechanical construction, or building retrofit project management experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, multi-unit residential or condominium HVAC projects.
- Previous experience with fan coil, heat pump, hydronic, refrigeration, or similar mechanical system replacements.
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical and engineering drawings.
- Experience scheduling and managing multiple installation crews.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site logistics, quality control, commissioning, and deficiency management.
- Proven ability to manage occupied-building projects with significant resident and stakeholder coordination.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable communicating with property managers, condominium boards, engineers, consultants, residents, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Highly organized, accountable, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight timelines.
- Proficient with project-management software, Microsoft Office, and digital reporting tools.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical engineering, construction management, HVAC, or skilled-trades background.
- Gas Technician, refrigeration, plumbing, or other relevant trade certification.
- PMP or similar project-management designation.
- Experience working with CCDC contracts, consultants, bonding requirements, RFIs, change orders, and construction documentation.
- Experience managing projects valued between $1 million and $10 million or more.
- Familiarity with condominium governance, property-management operations, and resident communication.
What Success Looks Like
The successful candidate will take full ownership of Hudson’s major retrofit projects, maintain strong client relationships, solve problems before they escalate, and ensure every project is delivered safely, professionally, and efficiently.
You should be comfortable moving between the mechanical room, occupied suites, contractor meetings, engineering discussions, and board presentations. You must be equally capable of managing field crews and communicating confidently with senior stakeholders.
