We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and results-oriented Director of Care to provide leadership to our clinical team and ensure the delivery of exceptional resident care.
Qualifications Education & Credentials
- Registered Nurse (RN) or (RPN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Valid professional licensing and continuing education requirements as applicable.
Experience
- Minimum three years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, retirement living, long-term care, or a related senior services environment.
- Strong clinical assessment and care planning expertise.
- Experience with scheduling, payroll systems, electronic documentation, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with retirement home legislation, quality assurance practices, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and oversight of all clinical and nursing services within the residence.
- Develop, implement, and monitor programs, policies, and practices that support resident wellness and regulatory compliance.
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and evaluate nursing team members while fostering a positive and accountable workplace culture.
- Ensure clinical staff receive appropriate orientation, ongoing education, and professional development opportunities.
- Oversee resident assessments, care planning, and documentation processes to ensure accuracy and continuity of care.
- Monitor changes in resident health status and ensure appropriate communication with families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Lead infection prevention and control initiatives, outbreak preparedness, falls prevention strategies, and behavioural support programs.
- Manage departmental budgets, staffing resources, and operational performance within established guidelines.
- Conduct audits, inspections, investigations, and quality improvement initiatives to maintain high standards of care.
- Ensure safe medication management practices and compliance with applicable professional standards and legislation.
- Participate in leadership meetings, committees, and strategic planning initiatives that support organizational goals.
- Promote a culture of resident-centred care, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
