Rely Construction Ltd. is a residential and commercial general contracting team, we are looking to grow our business and are seeking a Construction Estimator to work with us on a remote, project-by-project independent contractor basis so we can grow together. We welcome new students and recent graduates.
The estimator will help identify suitable construction opportunities and prepare complete, submission-ready bid packages for Rely Construction’s internal review. Rely Construction will approve, sign and submit all bids.
Duties:
- Search for suitable tender and bidding opportunities
- Review drawings, specifications, addenda and submission requirements
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and detailed cost estimates
- Source and organize subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Prepare scopes, allowances, exclusions, clarifications and tender documents
- Flag deadlines, risks, bonding requirements and missing information
- Deliver complete bid packages with enough time for our final review and submission
Requirements:
- Proven construction estimating and tender experience (schooling experience is acceptable)
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- Past project bids or estimate samples (schooling experience is acceptable)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet firm deadlines
Experience with BC Bid, BidCentral, municipal procurement portals and Greater Vancouver construction pricing is preferred.
Compensation is project-based and will be agreed upon in writing before each approved estimating assignment begins. Assignments are offered as opportunities arise, with no guaranteed minimum number of projects or volume of work.
