Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipper and Receiver to join our warehouse team. This role is essential in ensuring the accurate and efficient movement of goods, maintaining inventory integrity, and supporting overall warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems, shipping and receiving processes, and equipment such as forklifts and reach trucks. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on order fulfillment, logistics, and distribution.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload shipments using forklifts, reach trucks, or other material handling equipment
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy against packing lists and purchase orders
- Operate warehouse management systems (WMS), MRP, and AS400 for inventory tracking and order processing
- Prepare orders for shipment by packaging products securely and efficiently
- Pick orders accurately using order pickers, ensuring correct quantities and items are selected
- Maintain organized storage areas to facilitate smooth warehouse distribution operations
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock replenishment activities
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures during all shipping and receiving tasks
- Document shipment details and update system records accordingly
- Support other warehouse functions as needed to meet operational goals
Qualifications
- Prior experience in warehouse management, shipping & receiving, or related roles preferred
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), MRP, AS400 is a plus
- Experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, or other industrial equipment required; certification preferred
- Strong basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments
- Knowledge of warehouse distribution processes and order fulfillment procedures
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) regularly and stand for extended periods
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order picking and inventory management
- Familiarity with e-commerce shipping requirements is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
