Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. This role involves preparing high-quality dishes, assisting with food service, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, food safety, and delivering excellent customer experiences in a fast-paced restaurant setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in meal preparation according to Mary Browns recipes and standards
- Cook and assemble dishes efficiently while maintaining quality and presentation standards
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of all ingredients and equipment
- Assist with food plating, garnishing, and portioning to ensure consistency across all dishes
- Support the kitchen team during busy hours by managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking equipment throughout shifts
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely food delivery
- Adhere to restaurant policies regarding serving, food handling, and food safety regulations
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or food service environment is an asset.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and safety standards in the food industry
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques and culinary practices
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or evenings as needed
- Prior experience with kitchen equipment operation is a plus but not mandatory
- A genuine passion for food service, cooking, and delivering exceptional guest experiences
