Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Long Haul Lowboy Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating heavy-duty lowboy trailers across long-distance routes, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of freight. Duties
- Safely operate long haul lowboy trailers transporting heavy equipment and freight over long distances.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other appropriate equipment, ensuring proper securing of loads.
- Navigate routes efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety standards.
- Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on trucks and trailers, including automotive repairs when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and route updates.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and inspection records in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Assist with heavy equipment operation when required, supporting overall job site activities.
Skills
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for hauling heavy loads.
- Experience operating heavy equipment, including forklifts and other machinery used in loading/unloading freight.
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols for transporting oversized or heavy loads.
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and troubleshooting to ensure vehicle reliability.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with federal and state transportation regulations.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.
- Physical ability to load, unload, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform duties requiring standing or walking for extended periods.
- Prior experience in freight transportation or heavy equipment operation is preferred but not mandatory.
This role is vital for maintaining efficient logistics operations while prioritizing safety, reliability, and professionalism at every step.
Pay: $1,200.00-$1,500.00 per week
