Join our team and what we'll accomplish together
TELUS Health's Chief Security Office is scaling critical cybersecurity initiatives across threat detection, vulnerability management, security operations, and platform modernization. We are seeking an experienced program leader who will take full ownership of complex, cross-functional initiatives, drive delivery across competing stakeholders and lead by example in an executive-visibility environment.
As Senior Program Manager, you will own the end-to-end delivery of enterprise-scale cybersecurity programs. You'll drive alignment across CIO, CSO and business leadership—navigating competing priorities and influencing stakeholders who don't report to you. This role demands a seasoned leader with the strategic thinking to shape initiatives, the resilience to overcome complex obstacles, and the hands-on grit to roll up your sleeves and drive results where it matters most.
You have successfully led complex technical initiatives at scale. You know how to cut through ambiguity, build buy-in from tough stakeholders, and keep momentum on high-stakes work. You bring proven GRIT—the tenacity and determination to push through obstacles—paired with the flexibility to pivot quickly as business needs evolve. You are a doer, not a process follower; you thrive in environments where impact matters and challenges are the norm.
This role is built for a someone who thrives on:
Owning outcomes across multiple competing priorities and driving teams to deliver results
Building structure in ambiguous, evolving environments while remaining agile enough to pivot when business demands shift
Influencing and navigating complex stakeholder dynamics—knowing when to collaborate, when to push back, and when to escalate
Getting deeply into the work to unblock teams, identify risks early, and drive execution
Learning at pace in the cybersecurity domain while immediately driving impact and building credibility
Growing into increasingly complex portfolio leadership, having proven your ability to shape and deliver strategic initiatives
What you'll do
Program Leadership & Delivery
Own the end-to-end delivery of enterprise-scale cybersecurity programs aligned to strategic business objectives—setting the vision, driving accountability, and leading teams to results
Drive rigorous program execution by establishing timelines, owning milestone delivery, surfacing and mitigating dependencies and risks before they derail initiatives
Get into the details where it matters—removing blockers directly, unblocking teams, and pushing through obstacles that would derail progress
Lead by example through demonstrated accountability, follow-through, and commitment to excellence—modeling the standard you expect from every team member
Deliver clear, fact-based progress reporting and decisive communication to leadership, taking full ownership of program narrative and transparency
Stakeholder Leadership & Influence
Navigate and influence complex stakeholder ecosystems—collaborating with CIO, CSO, and business leaders to drive alignment on competing priorities
Craft and own program strategy materials that win buy-in from executive steering committees and build business case for resource allocation
Build and maintain governance structures that ensure transparency, escalate appropriately, and drive disciplined decision-making
Manage vendor and external partnerships as a trusted strategic point of contact, representing TELUS Health's leadership and ensuring delivery excellence
Bridge technical and business perspectives—translating complex security initiatives into business impact and ensuring both technical and non-technical stakeholders remain aligned
Strategic Growth & Evolution
Build deep expertise in cybersecurity operations, governance, and platform delivery—learning rapidly and establishing yourself as a trusted advisor to the CSO
Develop toward portfolio-level program leadership, taking on increasingly complex and strategic initiatives as you prove impact
Drive operational innovation—identifying gaps in delivery processes and championing improvements that multiply team effectiveness
Build and exercise influence beyond direct authority through demonstrated competence, integrity, and consistent delivery
Thrive in a high-visibility, fast-paced environment where resilience, flexibility, and adaptability are non-negotiable
Lead with us as our security priorities evolve—bringing the agility and strategic perspective to adapt and grow alongside our organization
What you bring
7+ years of proven experience leading complex technical programs or enterprise initiatives at scale, with demonstrated track record of delivering results in high-pressure environments
Seasoned stakeholder leadership skills—ability to navigate ambiguity, influence leaders without direct authority, and build alignment across competing interests
Demonstrated GRIT and resilience—the tenacity to push through obstacles, solve problems creatively, and keep teams moving forward when challenges arise
Hands-on execution mindset—comfort getting directly involved in delivery, unblocking teams, and taking ownership of outcomes rather than delegating away accountability
Leadership presence—someone who leads by example, sets the standard for accountability, and earns respect through demonstrated competence and integrity
Flexibility and strategic agility—ability to pivot quickly as business priorities shift, while maintaining focus on north star outcomes
Intellectual curiosity and learning velocity—ability to rapidly build credibility in the cybersecurity domain while making immediate impact
Executive communication skills—ability to craft clear narratives for C-suite stakeholders and drive conversations that shape direction
Nice to haves
Background or deep familiarity with cybersecurity, infrastructure, or security operations
Experience with risk governance frameworks, executive reporting, and compliance-driven initiatives
PMP, PgMP, or similar advanced certification
Cybersecurity certification (CISSP, CISM) or hands-on security experience
Track record of navigating and influencing executive leadership and tough stakeholder dynamics
