Job Summary
We are looking for a Team Leader / Foreman to lead our installation crews on walk-in cooler and freezer projects across Ontario.
This is a hands-on position. You will be responsible for leading the crew on site while also being involved in the actual installation. Our projects are typically in restaurants, hospitals, universities, commercial buildings, and other facilities.
Most of our jobs are within about 2 hours of Toronto, but some projects will require longer travel depending on the location. You should be comfortable travelling and working at different job sites.
As the Team Leader, you will be the person responsible for making sure the crew knows what needs to be done, materials and tools are ready, the work is completed properly, and the job stays on schedule. You will also communicate with our office and, when required, the customer or site contact.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable taking responsibility, can work with a small crew, and knows how to get things done without needing to be constantly supervised.
Responsibilities
- Lead and work alongside the installation crew on site.
- Plan the work for the day and make sure everyone knows their responsibilities.
- Coordinate the installation of walk-in coolers and freezers from start to finish.
- Review drawings, instructions, and site conditions before and during installation.
- Make sure the required tools, materials, and equipment are available before and during the job.
- Help with loading, unloading, moving, and organizing materials.
- Install and supervise the installation of panels, doors, flashing, silicone, and other finishing details.
- Make sure installations are done properly and meet the expected quality standards.
- Identify problems or unexpected site conditions and figure out practical solutions.
- Communicate with the office when there are changes, delays, missing materials, or other issues.
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and site personnel when required.
- Keep the crew working safely and make sure safety procedures are followed.
- Keep the job site organized and clean throughout the installation.
- Complete site cleanup and make sure tools and equipment are properly stored at the end of the job.
- Keep track of progress and communicate any issues that could affect the schedule.
- Take responsibility for the overall quality and completion of the job.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in construction, installation, refrigeration, commercial work, or a similar hands-on environment.
- Experience leading a crew or working as a foreman is strongly preferred.
- Experience installing walk-in coolers/freezers is an asset.
- Good work ethic and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Able to give clear instructions and work well with different people.
- Comfortable making decisions and solving problems on site.
- Organized and able to keep a job moving without constant supervision.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Good communication skills.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools.
- Able to read basic drawings, measurements, and installation instructions.
- Able to perform physical work, including lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable traveling to different job sites throughout Ontario.
- Valid driver's licence is required.
- Willing to get involved and do the work alongside the crew rather than simply supervise from the sidelines.
What the Job Is Really Like
This is a working foreman position. You will be leading the crew, but you will also be installing, lifting materials, using tools, solving problems, and helping wherever you are needed.
Some jobs are straightforward, while others require you to adapt to the site and figure things out as you go. You may deal with tight spaces, difficult access, changes from the customer, missing materials, or unexpected site conditions.
We need someone who can take ownership of a job and keep things moving. You don't need to know everything on day one, but you do need to be willing to learn, communicate, and take responsibility for the work and the crew.

Pay: $27.00-$35.00 per hour
