Mental Health Direct Support Worker
Family Respite Services works in partnership with children's mental health agencies in Windsor-Essex to provide support for children with mental health challenges.

Primarily this support will be provided to a child or youth in the community, assisting the young person to develop skills, opportunities for community involvement and social engagement. The support staff work on specific goals to help the child or young person. This position may appeal to students in related fields of study such as Social Work, teaching, psychology, child and youth work etc.
There may also be the opportunity to also be part of our team that support youth with dual diagnosis in our respite home for those wishing to work more hours.
We require people workers in both the City of Windsor and in communities in the county (Amherstburg, Kingsville, Harrow, Leamington, Belle River). You will be required to drive to the child's home and work with them in the community.
Job Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Valid driver's license
- Plan and develop engaging activities: academic, recreation, sport related, arts and crafts etc.
- Willing to assist with developing plans with the youth and their family to provide successful support.
- Working collaboratively with local Mental Health Organizations to provide goals based activities and engagements that support a youth’s treatment plan
- We are needing positive, energetic staff that can work with children and youth who have a Mental Health Disorder with behavioural challenges.

- This is a great opportunity if you are in school full time or part time, we can offer part time hours (6-12 hours per week)
- Hours of support are typically after school, early evenings or weekends.
