Brasso Nissan is looking for an experienced Journeyman Automotive Service Technician to join our service team.
We are looking for a technician who takes pride in their work, can diagnose concerns accurately, and understands the importance of completing repairs properly the first time. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for someone who wants to work in a busy, professional shop with an established Calgary dealership.
Our technicians work closely with our service advisors, parts department, and shop foreman to provide customers with accurate repairs, clear recommendations, and dependable service.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns
- Perform maintenance and repairs on domestic and import vehicles
- Complete repairs according to manufacturer procedures and industry standards
- Inspect vehicles and identify additional safety or maintenance concerns
- Provide clear, written recommendations for required and upcoming repairs
- Prioritize recommendations based on safety and urgency
- Perform road tests before and after repairs when required
- Complete vehicle inspections and safety inspections
- Accurately document findings, repairs, parts, and labour
- Maintain an organized and safe work area
- Communicate with the shop foreman, service advisors, and parts department throughout the repair process
- Use shop equipment, diagnostic tools, and technical information systems safely and correctly
What We’re Looking For
- Alberta Journeyman Automotive Service Technician certification or Red Seal endorsement
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to complete repairs accurately and efficiently
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management and organizational abilities
- Attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced shop
- Valid Alberta driver’s licence and a clean, acceptable driving record
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
Previous dealership or Nissan experience is an asset, but technicians from independent or other manufacturer backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
