Position Summary
The Manager, Human Resources provides operational leadership and supports strategic direction for PDI’s transportation and warehousing functions. The Manager leads a multidisciplinary HR team and provides expert guidance in employee and labour relations, recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, attendance support, and HR administration. Working collaboratively with leaders, partners, and internal and external stakeholders, the Manager ensures responsive service delivery, effective day-to-day operations, legislative and collective agreement compliance, and continuous improvement aligned with organizational priorities and the requirements of a federally regulated workplace.

Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, at an intermediate to advanced level.
- Familiarity with Canada Labour Code and Federal Labour Regulation.
- Proven competency in Health, Safety and Quality initiatives

- Flexibility for payroll processing during holidays, weekends, etc.
- Tracking & approving employee attendance using Manusonic entry for payroll
- Employee benefits - enrolling new members, termination of benefits, etc.
- Able to adapt in a fast-paced environment and re-prioritize on a continual basis
Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- University or college degree or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of post-secondary HR education and professional development.
- Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation is an asset.
- At least five years of progressive HR leadership and management experience in a complex environment; health and safety experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in labour relations, grievance management, collective agreement administration, and attendance support.
- Proven experience in strategic HR planning, operational HR service delivery, and transformational change.
- Strong knowledge of relevant provincial and federal legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, 2000, the Labour Relations Act, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Ability to combine strategic HR planning with a practical, hands-on approach to day-to-day operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
- Highly effective consultation, relationship-building, collaboration, change leadership, decision-making, and influencing skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities across multiple work environments and branches in different provinces.
- Familiarity with workforce management and scheduling systems, preferably UKG Workforce Management, including the labour impacts of scheduling, staffing allocation, attendance management, and workforce analytics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams; working knowledge of UKG Pro and Manusonic is an asset.
